Dutch Detective Agency is a licensed private investigation agency based in Rotterdam. For over 13 years, we have helped private clients, employers, lawyers and international clients turn suspicion and uncertainty into clearly documented facts.

From entrepreneurship to professional investigation
Dutch Detective Agency was founded by two experienced entrepreneurs. After many years of running businesses, we decided to use our knowledge and experience in a different way: helping people and organisations when suspicion, conflict or unclear circumstances require reliable facts.
Entrepreneurship taught us to take responsibility, think practically and handle competing interests with care. We apply that experience to both private and corporate investigations. We do not look only at isolated signals. We also consider the surrounding circumstances, possible connections and the consequences for our client.
What began as a deliberate career change developed into a professional private investigation agency with over 13 years of experience.
Commercially aware and genuinely human
Our approach is professional without becoming distant. Behind every investigation request is a person, family or organisation looking for clarity.
For us, being commercially aware does not mean conducting as much investigation as possible. It means working in the client’s interest: focusing on the relevant questions, avoiding unnecessary costs and explaining honestly in advance what can and cannot be investigated.
We work with sound judgement, personal involvement and respect for everyone concerned. Verifiable facts remain central throughout the investigation.
We do not investigate in order to confirm a suspicion. We investigate to establish what can be supported by facts.
The right resources for each case
No two investigations are the same. A sensitive private matter requires a different approach from an internal corporate investigation, background screening or an international assignment.
Depending on the nature and scope of the case, one investigator or several authorised investigators may be assigned. The resources used are determined by the purpose of the investigation, the expertise required and the circumstances at the relevant location.
You have direct contact with the owner and the investigator responsible for your case. This keeps communication clear and ensures that you know who is handling your investigation.

Not every request can automatically be accepted as an investigation. During the initial contact, we discuss the purpose, the available information and which approach may be appropriate and responsible.
Clear and factual reporting
An investigation is only valuable when its findings are documented clearly, verifiably and in a way that can be understood by the client and their advisers.
You therefore receive a structured report containing relevant observations, dates, times and available supporting information. We distinguish clearly between facts that have been established, connections that have been identified and matters that could not be confirmed.
Where relevant, the report can be discussed with or provided to your lawyer, adviser, HR professional, insurer or another specialist appointed by you.
We do not guarantee a particular outcome. You can, however, expect relevant findings to be recorded carefully, objectively and transparently.
Licensed and verifiable
Dutch Detective Agency operates under private investigation agency licence POB 1758 and works within the rules applicable to private investigation agencies in the Netherlands.
Our investigations are conducted in accordance with applicable Dutch legislation and the privacy code governing the private investigation sector. Investigators assigned to a case hold the authorisation, professional qualifications and identification required for their work.
