When an internal investigation may be appropriate
Concrete indications may include:
- goods, stock or money disappearing without explanation;
- recurring cash discrepancies, irregular expense claims or unexplained payments;
- possible misuse of company property, cards, vehicles or administrative systems;
- irregularities in time records, orders or other business data;
- information from lawfully available CCTV, access records or internal reports;
- indications that employees, suppliers, temporary workers or visitors may be involved.
Prevent relevant information from being lost
An early confrontation may change behaviour or cause communications and other information to disappear. It is therefore advisable to secure available information first, define the investigative question and determine which focused steps may be taken.

- review of lawfully available CCTV footage;
- digital research in public and lawfully accessible sources;

Factual reporting
Relevant findings are recorded chronologically and clearly. The report distinguishes facts, statements and unconfirmed information and may contain documents, records, observations, interviews and supporting images.
The report gives your organisation a substantiated factual picture. Management, HR and your lawyer or adviser can then determine the appropriate employment, organisational or legal response.
From first message to investigation proposal
You can outline the situation by email, contact form or telephone. State which goods, amounts or information are missing, which indications you have and what information is already available. Do not send sensitive documents through the initial form.
After a brief assessment, you receive a proposal defining the question, suitable approach, expected work and cost framework. No investigation starts without your approval, and you remain in direct contact with the investigator handling the matter.
