CORPORATE INVESTIGATIONS — COMPANY SCREENING

Know who you are doing business with before signing the agreement

A new client, supplier, investor or business partner may appear promising, while you still wonder whether the full story is accurate. Before committing trust, money or responsibility, company screening helps clarify relevant business, financial and reputational indicators.

Licensed private investigation agency · POB 1758 · Operating throughout the Netherlands

Dutch Detective Agency investigates the company behind the deal. We verify relevant company information, identify business connections and report possible inconsistencies and risks, helping you decide with greater confidence whether to proceed and under which conditions.

A sound business decision starts with the right information

A professional website, a convincing presentation or an official company registration does not provide the complete picture. A company screening can be valuable before you enter a new business relationship, supply on credit, invest, work with a new supplier or share confidential information.

What can a company screening examine?

The scope is tailored to your question and the risk involved. Depending on the information lawfully available, the screening may examine:

  • official company names, trade names and registration details;
  • registered addresses and corporate history;
  • directors, associated companies and business connections;
  • changes in directors, addresses, legal form or activities;
  • filed annual accounts and bankruptcy or insolvency information;
  • notable patterns or inconsistencies in company records;
  • news reports, reputational signals and digital presence;
  • international corporate connections, where lawfully investigable.

Look beyond the company registration

An active registration does not automatically mean a company is financially sound or that all supplied information is correct. We therefore also examine history, directors and associated businesses, which may reveal patterns not visible in a single company extract, such as several companies established or dissolved in short succession, frequent changes of directors, or undisclosed business connections.

An individual indicator does not automatically prove misconduct; the combination and context of findings determine their significance. Depending on the legal form, we may examine filed annual accounts, whether they were filed on time, and public bankruptcy and insolvency records.

Who are you really doing business with?

A company screening is not an audit and does not provide complete insight into a company's current bank balance or liquidity. If your question specifically concerns a company's ability to pay, a creditworthiness or asset investigation is more appropriate.

Where there is a legitimate reason, we also examine available information on directors and associated companies to identify possible conflicts of interest or undisclosed business connections. Our findings are based on verifiable information; we do not label anyone as trustworthy or untrustworthy without factual support. For foreign companies, we first assess which information is lawfully and reliably accessible, as options vary by country.

A report that supports your business decision

You receive a structured report that clearly distinguishes verified information, information that could not be verified, inconsistencies identified, relevant corporate connections and risk indicators, including sources used and the research date. This prevents you from paying for research that adds no value to your decision.

Do you have doubts about a company or business relationship?

Send us the company name, country of registration and a brief explanation of your situation. We will assess which checks are possible and relevant, and give you advance clarity on approach, timing and cost.

Available by telephone and digital channels 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I have a company screened?
A company screening can identify relevant information and risk indicators before you sign an agreement, provide credit, invest or share confidential business information.
Can you determine whether a company is trustworthy?
We investigate verifiable facts, company records, corporate history, business connections and relevant risk indicators. These findings help you make a better-informed decision. We do not make unsupported claims that a company is entirely trustworthy or untrustworthy.
Can you investigate a company’s financial health?
We can examine available annual accounts, public insolvency information and other financial risk indicators. These sources do not always establish the company’s current liquidity or complete financial position. A separate creditworthiness or asset investigation may be required.
Can you investigate foreign companies?
Yes, provided that relevant information in the country concerned is lawfully and reliably available. The options vary by country, so we assess the feasibility and available sources in advance.
What information do you need?
The company name, country of registration and, where available, its official registration number are normally sufficient for an initial assessment. We also need to understand which decision the findings will support.
How quickly can a company screening be completed?
This depends on the question, country and availability of relevant sources. Once we receive the company details, we provide an expected completion time.
How much does a company screening cost?
The cost depends on the required depth, the number of companies involved and the national or international sources required. You receive a clear proposal before the investigation begins.
