Private investigation is a licensed activity in the Netherlands. We operate under licence POB 1758 issued by the Ministry of Justice and Security; the work is governed by the privacy code of conduct for private investigation agencies.
Investigation affects the private life of those involved. We therefore test in advance whether there is a legitimate interest, whether the investigation is necessary and proportionate, and whether less intrusive means would be insufficient.
The GDPR and Dutch data protection standards require data minimisation: collecting and retaining no more than the investigative purpose justifies. Unlawfully obtained material harms your position rather than strengthening it.
What can be established, and what cannot
We give no guaranteed outcome. Clarity about limits belongs at the start of a matter.
What can be documented
- Observation from public space, with date, time and location reference.
- Presence, movement and overnight patterns across spaced observation windows.
- Verification of a residential address and the frequency of visits.
- Publicly accessible register data, such as Dutch Chamber of Commerce filings.
- Visible work or side activities during reported incapacity for work.
The limits of the work
- No access to another person's phone, email, messages or accounts.
- No trackers, listening devices or entering homes.
- No medical data and no statements about incapacity for work.
- No criminal investigation powers: we are not police and make no arrests.
- No guaranteed outcome: we report equally where a suspicion is not confirmed.
- No legal advice: the legal assessment belongs with your lawyer.

We act both on instruction from counsel and directly for the client, reporting to the party you designate.
For foreign law firms and companies, first contact runs remotely in English, execution takes place locally in Rotterdam and throughout the Netherlands, and reporting is delivered in English to a standard suitable for review by Dutch counsel.
