Vehicle Tracing and Recovery
Has a car, commercial vehicle, lease vehicle or other vehicle been taken or not returned as agreed? Dutch Detective Agency assists private and business clients with tracing, verifying and lawfully recovering vehicles in the Netherlands and abroad.
We can investigate the suspected location and current user of the vehicle, verify the situation on site and document our findings in a factual report. When a vehicle is located, we can assist with and coordinate its lawful recovery or repatriation.
For private clients
Car tracing for private owners may be appropriate when:
- A borrowed vehicle has not been returned.
- A former partner, relative, friend or acquaintance has taken the vehicle.
- A vehicle has been moved abroad without permission.
- The owner has information about a possible location but requires independent verification.
- Assistance is required with the lawful return of the vehicle.
For business clients
This service may be appropriate for:
- Leasing companies.

- Businesses whose company vehicle has not been returned.

International vehicle tracing
After a vehicle disappears or is not returned as agreed, it may quickly be moved across national borders. International vehicle tracing requires careful preparation and consideration of the laws that apply in each country.
Dutch Detective Agency has practical experience with vehicles that were taken to countries including Romania and Spain without permission or contrary to the agreements made. In those cases, the vehicles were located and lawfully returned. Every situation is different, so we assess feasibility case by case.

A lawful and careful approach
Dutch Detective Agency only accepts instructions from the lawful owner or a demonstrably authorised client. Before the investigation begins, you must be able to provide documentation proving ownership, contractual rights or authority, such as the vehicle registration documents, lease agreement, rental contract, purchase agreement or written authorisation.
A vehicle will never be removed without lawful authority or permission. Recovery and repatriation only take place in accordance with applicable Dutch and foreign legislation and, where necessary, in consultation with the competent authorities. We cannot guarantee that every vehicle can be located or recovered.
